About Lanzarote

Lanzarote is the eastern most of the Canary Islands, with summer temperatures as high as 32 ºC and winter temperatures between 15 ºC and 25 ºC, Lanzarote makes a fantastic all-year-round destination. Whether you just want to relax by the pool, or visit some of the island's many sites, there will something for you to enjoy.

  • Timanfaya National Park, a volcanic landscape barely changed since its eruption in the 1730s covers a quarter of the island's surface. For many, the highlight of their visit to Lanzarote;

  • One of Lanzarote's most enjoyable activities is relaxing - on the beautiful beaches during the day and over a nice meal in the evening;

  • There is an array of shops ranging from digital hardware shops to bazaars, you can get a good bargain if you can haggle a little with the shopkeepers;

  • Lanzarote has many lovely, sandy, safe, calm beaches including Papagayo and Flamingo at Playa Blanca;

  • Lanzarote offers a wide range of water activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, windsurfing, parasailing and canoeing;

  • El Golfo - the volcanic crater (today reduced to half its original size) filled by underground sea water creating a green lagoon. The contrast of black beach and deep green colour caused by the algae which inhabit its waters, creates a unique and spectacular sight;

  • Try Scuba Diving from Costa Teguise. To book go to the Active Centre located on Las Cucharas beach in Costa Teguise. Lanzarote offers some of the best diving in Europe;

  • The César Manrique Foundation houses some of his own works, along with his collection by artists such as Picasso, Miró, Chillida and Klee. The Foundation is located in the home that the artist lived in, situated in Taro de Tahiche;

  • The Cactus Garden, one of César Manrique's last works. An old quarry turned into an impressive cactus plantation, showing a unique ability to create an artistic setting using natural resources;

  • Whales and Dolphins Museum, Puerto Calero. The Museo de Cataceos de Canarias is a very informative museum with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Ideal for family holiday trips, located in Puerto Calero's attractive marina space.
